My late Father-in-law was the 2nd Radio Officer on Horshell when she was torpedoed. Would be very interested in any information on the voyage and subsequent rescue.

My Dad Ken Kennedy sailed as an apprentice deck officer in around 1939 to 1940. He told me he always remembered hearing rivet heads snapping off whenever they were in rough weather. Apparently the steel used by the German builders was more brittle than steel used by other shipyards.
