The Hague-based LNG giant Shell is to take the delivery of the liquefied natural gas carrier Pan Africa, the last in a series of four ships built by Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, in the coming months. The four 174,000-cbm Tri-Fuel Diesel Electric (TFDE) LNG carriers are jointly owned by Teekay, CNOOC, BW and China LNG Shipping, a joint venture consisting of Cosco Shipping and China Merchants.

The vessels are chartered for 20 years with extension options to Shell’s wholly owned subsidiary Methane Services.
