Hello,

I am researching my Grandfather's Merchant Navy career between the wars.
During WW1 he was a Wireless Telegraphy Operator on the airships.
During WW2 he worked at Bletchley Park, I am gathering as much information about him as possible to get him added to the Bletchley Roll of Honour.

If anyone can help with any information at all I would be very grateful, ie ships served on, routes, his actual job (I think it might be 2nd Matea?? - Officer, but it is fairly illegible).

Alec Richard Tate
Born: 01/10/1900 London
No. and Grade of B/T Certificate: P.M.G. 8789
Official Numbers
142675 Nov. 1920

137507 Oct. 1930 I think this is SS Marinula (1) which ties in with him joining Shell head office a little later.

Once again, many thanks.

Best regards,

Jane
