I was 3rd mate onboard mv "Ninella" for 5 months in 1965 when it was a storage tanker at Nha Be, in the Saigon river.
I've had no contact with former shipmates as I left the company after that. (can't remember their names - "Sparks" was a Scot, Craney by name, communist by nature!) Ludo was the insane game that kept us sane in that place. (Nha Be tank farm was attacked by the Viet Cong towards the end of the war)
Before that I'd been on the Haustrum, Haustellum, Hemisinus and Arianta, between 1961 and 1965. |
