was a deck apprentice 1966-69. great times in plymouth school of nav (great nights in the barbican 0) sailed on the platidia mostly USEC (summer of '67 -flower power and all that!)
paid off in curacao nov 67 and waited 2 wks in a beach side hotel for trip back! think they forgot about us! eventually made dublin for xmas 67 c/o the pallium. last trip was the velletia just before she went to the knackers - bad engineroom explosion with casualities. decided life ashore much healthier and ended up as a banker. seems disaster always follows me! |
