10/01/2014 - 17:00 I am now approaching full retirement after about 49 years of employment - 23 years with Joe Shell. Always fond memories, except p'raps with the old Pomella, but that is a different story. May you all be well my friends. Robin
02/01/2006 - 22:44 My fantastic life with Shell ended during the major restructuring of the 1980's but I remember and agree with the UK ads of the early 70's saying that "Shell Life Is A Great Life". Life moves on - but memories of Verena, Mysia, Mysella, Limnea, Natacina, Drupa, the dreaded 'P' ships - Pallium, Pomella - Axina, Etrema, Eburna, Liparus (on when 007 filmed), Vertagus, Hemisinus, Isocardia, Isomeria, Alinda. That's enough 'cos my memory ain't what it used to be. Kind regards to you all Robin Buncombe (Senior Engineer)

My first Joe Boat as an Appo after South Shields. Joined in New York and will never forget that the main cargo steam heating lines ran under my cabin.
